I (so far) have always been a city girl. Born and raised in Budapest I was always surrounded with concrete. When I was a kid there were times when we went hiking to the nearby hills with the family but these have become faded memories by now. That’s why I felt so excited when we got an invitation for two days to LIFESTYLE HOTEL MÁTRA which is wellness and recreation heaven situated in the heart of Márta with a view to Kékestető. Finally I could get a chance to get out of the city, the rush, the traffic and be back to the nature where I could focus on my mind and body.
There were several hiking trails around the hotel and we didn’t miss the chance to try one of them which was 7 km long with a difficulty level of 2-3. We got lost like five times but it was a unique experience; we were alone in the forest, enjoying the autumns’ sun streaming down through the boughs to spatter the forest floor with gold, red and green. I forgot how much I love being in the hills.
